The Mass And The Mark serves as supplemental information to the Bible Prophecy series entitled, Fallen Again.

At the conclusion of the series, it was theorized that the Catholic Mass could play a role in the implementation of the mark of the beast.  The connection between the two resides in THE WOMAN and the DOCTRINE OF BALAAM. 

The woman, the great whore, Mystery Babylon the Great is none other than what we know today as the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican. The woman is the source of the coming great apostasy that culminates with the mark of the beast. 

The doctrine of Balaam is essentially a deception (i.e.- a lie mingled with truth) that causes the mingling of two things God commanded to be kept separate. Revelation 2:14 gives the specific examples of fornication and eating things sacrificed to idols, both involve a joining or MINGLING of two things that should be separate. Fornication can be both physical (2 Cor 6:16) and spiritual (Num 25:3; Hos 4:17). Physical fornication is a forbidden union because only a man and his wife should be joined together (Mark 10:9; Eph 5:31). Spiritual fornication is a forbidden union because we should only be joined in spirit to the Lord (1 Cor 6:17). Eating entails mingling what is being eaten with our bodies. Eating is essential for physical survival, but at times in history, God has forbidden certain people from eating certain things (Gen 2:17; Lev 11). The doctrine of Balaam is the means the woman uses to advance the coming great apostasy. In fact, the doctrine of Balaam has been used by the enemy since the very beginning.  It was the tactic used in the garden of Eden as evidenced by the fact that man fell because he MINGLED himself with the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen 3:6).  It was the tactic used in the days of Noah when the sons of God (i.e.- fallen angels cf. 1 Pet 3:19-20; 2 Pet 2:4; Jude 6-7) MINGLED themselves with the daughters of men, producing the mutant/hybrid offspring known as the giants, and polluting the human genome (Gen 6:2,4).  Only Noah and his family remained genetically pure (Gen 6:9) and God destroyed the world with a Flood (Gen 7:23). It was the tactic used through Balaam himself against the children of Israel as they MINGLED themselves with the daughters of Moab and idols (Num 25:1-3). It was the tactic used against the true church through Constantine the Great to create the false church, the Roman Catholic Church (Rev 2:14-15). And it will be the tactic used by the woman to introduce and advance the coming great apostasy. The deception will include another “extra-terrestrial” invasion (Dan 2:43; Rev 12:7-12), as Jesus said, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man” (Luke 17:26).

Since the Catholic Church is THE WOMAN and the current ritual of the Mass involves spiritual FORNICATION and EATING something connected to an idol (the crucifix), there appears to be a connection.  Is it a coincidence that during Masses celebrated by the Catholic faithful each year on Ash Wednesday, they not only “receive Christ” in the form of the wafer, but also receive a BLACK SPOT in their foreheads (Rev 13:16)?  Could the Mass be a forerunner to the ritual that will be instituted for the world to receive the mark of the beast?
